A supportive space to learn together
The Culture Hub Community brings together people working across arts, culture and heritage to ask questions, share ideas and learn from others facing similar challenges.
Digital change can be difficult when organisations are working with limited time, small teams and competing priorities. But many of the problems being tackled are shared across the sector.
The Community helps make that experience visible, so useful knowledge can move between organisations instead of everyone having to solve the same problems independently.
It is a place for practical questions, honest conversations, shared experiments and useful examples.
Ask practical questions
Ask for help when you are unsure what to do next.
That might be a question about your website, CRM, email marketing, accessibility, audience engagement, campaigns, AI, data, digital tools or something your organisation is trying to improve.
Sometimes the answer may already exist within the Hub. Sometimes another organisation may have solved the same problem. Sometimes the best answer will be to point you towards specialist guidance or another sector support organisation.
The important thing is having somewhere to start.
Learn from others
See what other cultural organisations are trying, what is working for them and what they have learned along the way.
A museum implementing a new CRM may have useful lessons for an arts organisation considering the same platform. A small heritage organisation may have found a simple approach to email that works better than a much more complicated system. A theatre may have tested an audience campaign that other organisations could adapt.
Those experiences become more valuable when they are shared.
Share your experience
You do not need to be an expert to contribute.
A useful lesson might come from something that went well, something that failed, a question you asked, a process you improved or a small change that saved your team time.
Sharing those experiences helps other organisations make better decisions and creates a growing body of practical knowledge from across the sector.
Join useful conversations
Take part in discussions, challenges, workshops, roundtables and live sessions built around real questions and priorities.
Rather than conversations disappearing after an event or webinar, useful learning can be captured, discussed and developed further within the Community.
That gives good ideas somewhere to continue growing.
Find people to connect with
Culture Hub can help people working on similar challenges find one another.
That could mean connecting people working in museums, galleries, theatres, festivals, libraries, heritage organisations, cultural venues or community organisations.
It could also bring together people with shared responsibilities or interests, such as marketing, digital, fundraising, learning, collections, membership, audience development or technology.
Some conversations may simply help solve a question. Others may lead to Working Groups, shared experiments or larger collaborative projects.
Help shape the Hub
The Community should help determine what Culture Hub works on next.
Members can suggest resources, identify recurring problems, propose workshops, highlight gaps in existing support and share ideas for tools, Playbooks or Shared Projects.
If the same problem keeps appearing across different organisations, that is useful evidence.
It might lead to a new Quick Win, Workbook or Playbook. It might become a workshop. It could become a shared digital tool or even a project that organisations choose to build together.
The Community is therefore not simply another feature of the Hub. It is one of the ways the Hub learns what the sector actually needs.
Why this community?
Many cultural organisations are solving similar problems
Cultural organisations are enormously varied, but many of the challenges behind their work are remarkably similar.
Teams are trying to improve websites, manage audiences, communicate more effectively, understand data, adopt AI responsibly, integrate systems, run better campaigns and make limited resources stretch further.
The Community turns those shared challenges into opportunities to learn together.
Too many questions, not enough time
It can be difficult to know what deserves attention first when websites, email, social media, CRM, reporting, accessibility, campaigns and audience engagement all compete for limited time.
Seeing what other organisations are prioritising can help make those decisions easier.
Useful knowledge gets trapped inside organisations
Teams solve problems every day.
They find a better way of running an event. They improve a form. They discover why a campaign was not working. They develop a useful spreadsheet. They test an AI workflow. They learn something important while implementing a new system.
Unless there is somewhere to share that experience, the learning often stays within that organisation.
Culture Hub gives it somewhere to go.
Digital work can feel isolated
In smaller organisations, one person may be responsible for marketing, content, CRM, websites, email and digital development alongside several other responsibilities.
Even within larger organisations, specialist roles can sometimes feel isolated.
The Community creates access to people who understand the problem because they are dealing with similar things themselves.
Everyone is testing similar things
Across the sector, organisations are experimenting with many of the same technologies, platforms, campaigns and approaches.
If ten organisations independently test the same thing and keep the results to themselves, the sector learns very slowly.
If those organisations share what they tried and what happened, everyone can improve more quickly.
A structured place to ask questions, find useful answers and learn from real examples
The Community is organised into practical spaces so conversations remain useful and important knowledge can be found again later.
Discussion Spaces
Topic-based areas where members can ask questions, share ideas and take part in focused conversations.
Spaces might develop around areas such as websites, CRM, audience development, AI, accessibility, marketing, collections, fundraising, events or digital transformation.
Ask Us Anything
Open sessions and discussions where members can put practical questions to the Culture Hub team, partners, specialists and other experienced practitioners.
The aim is not simply to answer one person’s question. Useful answers can be captured so the wider community benefits too.
Community Q&A
A growing collection of common questions, useful answers and recurring challenges from across the Community.
Over time, repeated questions can also help identify where better guidance, resources or practical tools are needed.
Peer Support
A space for organisations and practitioners to help one another by sharing experience, advice, examples and encouragement.
Often the most useful answer comes from someone who has recently dealt with exactly the same problem.
Show and Tell
A place to share work in progress and practical examples.
Members might share a campaign, website improvement, dashboard, workflow, content idea, AI experiment, audience research approach or something their organisation has recently tried.
It does not need to be perfect. Showing the process and explaining what was learned can be just as useful as showing the finished result.
Challenges
Simple activities that encourage organisations to take action together.
A Challenge might ask members to improve one part of their website, test an accessibility tool, review an email journey, experiment with an AI process or try a shared campaign approach.
Members can then share what they tried, what happened and what others can learn from it.
Events and Meetups
Workshops, roundtables, clinics, demonstrations, peer sessions and informal meetups built around useful topics and shared challenges.
These can connect online Community conversations with opportunities to work through issues together.
Feedback and Suggestions
A clear way to tell Culture Hub what would be useful next.
Members can suggest resources, workshops, Playbooks, tools, experiments, partnerships or problems that deserve more attention.
Announcements
Updates about new resources, Playbooks, Workshops, Shared Projects, AI Lab experiments, events and other Community activity.
The aim is to help members discover opportunities to get involved without having to continually search for what has changed.
From individual questions to shared progress
One organisation asking a useful question can help dozens of others.
A discussion can become a Resource. A repeated problem can become a Playbook. An experiment can become a case study. A shared need can become a Working Group. A bigger opportunity can become a Shared Project.
That is where the Community becomes particularly valuable.
It is not simply somewhere to talk.
It is a way for organisations to share what they know, identify what they need and turn individual experience into collective progress.
The more the Community participates, the more useful the Hub becomes for everyone.
